The Problem
In India, more than 50% of the Population is dependent on Agricultural income of which 85% are Smallholder Farmers. Most of them rely on rainfed Agriculture and don’t have the necessary resources to manage their farms in case the climate changes. They are forced into high-risk cash cropping, exposing them to debt and food insecurity. Government schemes help promote high value crops; infrastructure costs prevent them as they are living hand to mouth.
Our Solution
We expose farmers to Advanced polyhouse and Agri-technology infrastructure aligning with SDG 9, while paying them above average pay allowing them to work and grow professionally moving them away from debt and high-risk cash crops. SDG 2 and 13 are also applicable to ensure Zero Hunger and use climate smart agriculture practices.
